Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) is a set of best practice treatment guidelines for trauma care in the high-threat prehospital environment.
These guidelines are built upon critical medical lessons learned by US and allied military forces over the past 15 years of conflict. They are appropriately modified to address the specific needs of civilian populations and civilian EMS practice.
The Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC) was formed in 2010 to formally translate military trauma lessons learned into the civilian high-threat prehospital community.
The C-TECC is modelled after the highly successful Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) - frequently credited as one of the major initiatives that has resulted in the lowest combat mortality rates in recorded history.
Its Mission is to decrease preventable deaths in a tactical situation.
SureFire Tactical's TECC Program is designed to teach participants how to respond to and care for patients in a civilian tactical environment.
The course presents the three phases of tactical care:
Our Programs cover the following topics:

This course examines and addresses the unique and challenging requirements of administering point of wounding medical care by EMS personnel to patients during a high-threat event.
EMS providers will learn to distinguish between life-saving and secondary interventions, and when they should be applied based on the prevailing threat to responders and patients.
The "Officer Down" Survival Course teaches the essentials required to provide self-aid and buddy-aid whilst in the midst of an ongoing larger tactical situation.

Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC or TC3) is the standard of care in Prehospital Battlefield Medicine. The TCCC Guidelines are routinely updated and published by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC), a component of the Joint Trauma System (JTS).
TCCC was designed in the mid-'90s for the Special Operations medical community. Originally a Naval Special Warfare and USSOCOM Medical Research & Development initiative, TCCC developed battlefield appropriate and evidence-based casualty care based on injury patterns of previous conflicts. The original TCCC concept and guidelines were published in a Military Medicine Supplement in 1996.
The primary intent of TCCC is to reduce preventable combat death through a means that allows a unit to complete its mission while providing the best possible care for casualties.
The Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) is the Prehospital arm of the Joint Trauma System for the Department of Defence.
The CoTCCC is composed of 42 voting members specially selected as subject-matter experts in trauma, battlefield medicine, tactical medicine, prehospital medicine and their experience in the deployed combat environment. The TCCC Working Group is composed of the CoTCCC and hundreds of subject-matter experts across many domains and liaisons from DoD, Government and Partner nation organisations.
The CoTCCC and the TCCC Working Group focus all of their efforts on providing the best recommendations for training and equipment for our individual service members, combat medics, corpsman, pararescue, and med techs going into harm's way around the world.
TCCC Course Development
Our Tactical Combat Casualty Care Programs have been developed based on and are consistent with;
The Committee of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC).
Course Duration: 8 Hours $190 per person The TCCC All Service Members (TCCC-ASM) Course has been designed to teach Military Personnel TCCC concepts and basic lifesaving skills to ensure they are able to deliver medical aid to a trauma casualty. The ASM TCCC Course encompasses rapid casualty assessment, lifesaving medical skills, and critical communication and medical documentation techniques. The overall training goals are to ensure students:
The TCCC basic lifesaving skills have been proven safe and effective and can be performed by someone with no medical training. Our curriculum features a student-centered approach tailored to a novice TCCC learner. The course provides information through a short lecture followed by hands-on skills training and formal assessment. The training methods and materials are uniquely designed to accommodate a variety of learning styles and preferences, while also ensuring learning objectives are met in an efficient and effective manner. At the completion of this course, you will be qualified at a TCCC basic proficiency level. PREREQUISITES: None
Course Duration: 40 Hours / 5 Days $675 per person The TCCC Combat Lifesaver (TCCC-CLS) Course has been designed to teach Military Personnel TCCC concepts and critical skills to ensure they are able to deliver medical aid to a trauma casualty. The CLS TCCC Course encompasses tactical trauma assessment, bleeding control interventions, airway and respiratory management techniques, rescue drag/carry techniques, prevention and treatment of shock, burns, eye injuries, splints, pain management, critical communication, and medical documentation practices. This course is intended to provide an intermediate step between the TCCC All Service Members Course (ASM) taught to all Military personnel and the advanced life support skills taught only to Combat Medics. At the completion of the Course, in the absence of a Combat Medic, the CLS will be able to replicate some (though not all) of the full-fledged medic's techniques until the patient(s) can be evacuated to definitive care or a medic arrives to take over.
The overall training goals are to ensure students:
The TCCC skills have been proven safe and effective and can be performed by someone with no medical training.
At the completion of this 40-hour course, you will be qualified at a TCCC basic proficiency level.
